Tomb of Weng Tonghe

Weng Tonghe's tomb is at the foot of waggle peak. There are four ancient cypresses in front of the tomb. The iron branches are vigorous and strange. Weng Tonghe, whose name is Shengfu, is called Shuping. In the late Song Dynasty, he was called songchan old man, and he was also called Pinglu resident. He is from Changshu, Jiangsu Province. He was a famous calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty. He was once the master of Tongzhi and Guangxu emperors. He was the assistant bachelor and the Secretary of Hubu. He joined the military plane and was known as the "number one prime minister" in the world. He was dismissed and returned to his hometown for sponsoring the reform movement of 1898.

Tomb of Weng Tonghe

Weng Tonghe's tomb (including Weng's bingshe) is located in the West foot of Yushan at the foot of Wagou peak. Weng Tonghe's tomb and his father Weng Xincun's tomb are juxtaposed in Weng's Xinqian.

Introduction to scenic spots

According to the atlas of Chinese cultural relics Jiangsu volume, Weng Tonghe was buried in Weng's Xinqian after his death. His father Weng Xincun was on the left side of the tomb, with a diameter of 4.3 meters and a height of 1.2 meters. The monument behind the tomb was erected by his great grandson in 1909, the first year of Xuantong. It is 1.4 meters high and 0.56 meters wide. Engraved with "Yishan Xinxiang and Maoyou Sanfen", "emperor Qing Gao granted Guanglu doctor a special posthumous title, Wengong assisted in the office of the grand master, great grandfather Kao Shuping Gong, great grandfather Yipin's wife, great grandfather Tang's wife, great grandmother Lu Shuren's tomb", "great grandson Weng Zhilian, follow Jingli." There are tomb gate and worship platform.

There are three tombs in Weng's Xinqian, including three main tombs. In the main cave, his grandmother Mrs. Zhang was buried, his father Mr. Weng Xincun and his wife were buried in Zhao cave, and his elder brother Mr. Weng Tongshu and his wife were buried in Mu cave. The left Tomb of Zhao tomb is a single cave burial of his brother and sister-in-law, Weng tongjue's wife, Mrs. Yang Tai; the single Tomb of left tomb is a joint burial of Weng Tonghe and his wife, Tang and Lu. It faces south, with a diameter of 4.3 meters and a height of 1.2 meters. It is about 65 meters long, with one tombstone and one passage. The crossing is built along the mountain road. In 1984, a single room granite square was rebuilt with the inscription "Weng's new garden". The tomb city is surrounded by beautiful trees, pines and cypresses. The scenery is excellent. There is Weng's ancestral hall on the south side of the road around the mountain.
