Hongchengzi site

Zhangmen is located in the east corner of the south wall, with low battlements. Hongcheng is one of the best preserved architectural relics of Han Dynasty in Juyan area.

The city covers an area of about 1.3 square kilometers. The rectangular outer city is made of rammed earth. It is about 900 meters long from east to west and 1430 meters long from north to south. The west city wall is now leveled as a main road, with a remnant height of 1.7 meters, a top width of 7 meters and a bottom width of more than 19 meters. The other three walls are farmland. The inner city has a high terrain, commonly known as small city wall, covering an area of about 1897 square meters. The remnant height of the northern wall is more than 1.5 meters, and the highest terrain is 200 meters to the east of Zhuangzhuang. The local people call it "Jinluan hall". Traffic information: arrive at the scenic spot

1. There is no public transportation from the town to the scenic spot, and the one-way charter fee is about 60 yuan (on weekdays).

2. If you charter a car from the town to the scenic area, and enter the scenic area for sightseeing (including from strange woods to black city), you can return to the town. The whole journey costs about 100-120 yuan (weekdays), and local drivers do not need tickets.

Sightseeing bus for National Day

1. There are many shuttle buses, but there are more people. It takes physical strength to get on. The shuttle bus has two stops in queshulin and one stop in Heicheng.

2. If you get off at the "second stop" of queshulin and walk for about 10 minutes, you can get to Hongcheng.

3. There is a station in Datong City, but there are few tourists at present, because the barbed wire fence blocks the ruins outside. If you get off at this stop, you need to say hello to the driver in advance.
