Architectural design

Friendship bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with prestressed concrete box girder and steel cable, which is wavy; the main span is bored pile foundation, prefabricated I-block piers and vertical and horizontal beams, and the pavement is cast-in-place asphalt concrete. The bridge has a total length of 4700m and a deck width of 15m, with two double lane lanes and central separation lines; 1.5m wide carriageway is set on both sides of the lane; two-way 6 lanes are set on the top floor of the box girder, and two light rails and two wind escape lanes are set on the inner bottom floor. The first section of the bridge is connected with the Macau International Airport and the road system of Macau, and the first section of the Macao Peninsula is connected with the urban road system at the outer harbor. The two arches of the bridge are equipped with boat passage, and the steel cable tower is used for heightening, so that the two bridge decks are 30 meters high from the average water surface. The distance between the pylons of the bridge is 112.05 meters, the distance between the top of the pylons and the average water surface is about 56 meters, and the channel between the pylons is 70 meters wide. Near Taipa, there is a single channel, and near the peninsula, there are two channels, which are respectively used for ships passing between the inner port and the outer port. As there is only one double lane between the two sides of the bridge, the daily traffic congestion is not enough for the bridge. Large container trucks and mud trucks will walk on the bridge for a long time, which will pose a great threat to the life of the bridge. It is urgent to build a new bridge. As a result, the government set up the bridge office in 1989 to be responsible for the design and bidding. As a result, the Portuguese funded company won the bid and cooperated with the Chinese funded engineering company to build the bridge. The new Macao bridge spans the corner of the water pond on the Macao Peninsula and the Bei'an Wharf on the Taipa Island, which is the link between the two The second sea crossing bridge connecting Macao Peninsula and taitsai island is one of the longest bridges in Asia.
