Town God's Temple, Taiwan

Town God's Temple, Taiwan, is a Taoist temple worshipped by the Taiwan city of China, the two grade historic site in Qingnian Road, Tainan, Qingnian Road. It is a well-known Town God's Temple in Taiwan area of China. The City God is one of the most important deities in ancient Chinese religious culture. Most of them are heroes who have contributed to the local people. They are the deities of the Chinese folk and Taoism who believe in guarding the city. Ming Zheng Yongli twenty-three years (1669) temple was built in Dongan Fang right, it was called chengtianfu Town God's Temple. It was the earliest official construction of Taiwan in Town God's Temple.

This temple is dedicated to Wei Ling, the city god of Taiwan. There are many gods and Buddhas worshipped, such as the lady of the City God, Guanyin Bodhisattva, dizang Bodhisattva, Zhusheng Niangniang, the goddess of heaven, Fuzheng God, the old man under the moon, eighteen Arhats, civil and military judges, general fan Xie, general Gan Liu, and 24 Si. Twenty four divisions are subordinate officials of the City God.

According to Tainan custom, "kaogongsi" in the twenty-four divisions assesses the achievements of officials, while "xuezhengsi" manages the education and examination of human beings. Therefore, during the examination season, "xuezhengsi" and "kaogongsi" are the most popular, and the cases of "xuezhengsi" and "kaogongsi" are always filled with photocopies of admission certificates, which are highly believed by candidates. In addition, the "quick report Department" and "hell Department" are magnificent and beautiful.

In addition, the door god painting of this temple is the work of master pan Lishui.

Cultural Relic

There is a plaque in this temple with the words "Er Lai" written on it, which makes people shudder. The "erlai plaque" of this temple, the "one character plaque" of the temple of heaven in Tainan and the "clear world plaque" of Zhuxi temple are collectively called "three famous plaques of Tainan".

In the main hall, there is a big abacus. It was written in 1937 by Shan Xin Chen Shan. It engraved the six words of "Town God's Temple in the south of the Taiwan government" in the frame, and engraved "Ding Chounian and Chen Jiangshan's dedication" under the frame. The words "good and evil right are made by themselves", which symbolize the City God's reckless calculation of the merits and demerits of the world.

Miracle

According to the newspaper, Chen, who lived in Longtan, Taoyuan, believed that his lung disease had not been cured for a long time. Later, he dreamed that the "Fu Cheng Huang" wanted to treat his disease, but his lung disease had improved greatly. Chen Shanxin went to the temple to offer a 600 Jin pig as a sacrifice to the Hakka family, and invited the Hakka music group to play music to thank the God for his kindness.

dispute

Town God's Temple, Taiwan, Tainan, is the first official to build Town God's Temple, and Tainan is also the capital of the Ming and Zheng dynasties in Taiwan.

However, in 1891, the Qing Dynasty official was upgraded to Hsinchu Town God's Temple as the provincial city god, and after the two World War, Taipei also had the Town God's Temple of Taiwan province at the provincial level.

In Taiwan, the believers of the three temples are proud of their history and believe that they have the highest rank of City God.
