Ancient city of guide

The ancient city of guide is located in the center of the town. It is a Ming Dynasty building complex with a history of more than 600 years.

Now the city wall is basically well preserved. Yuhuangge is the landmark building of guide, which is located in the center of the town. The whole building complex is arranged in Chinese characters.

Ancient city of guide

The ancient city of guide was built in 1380 A.D. in the 13th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. It was added in the 18th year of Wanli. It has a history of more than 600 years. The walls are basically well preserved.

The ancient city of guide is square, and there are urn cities outside the north and South gates. The gate of the South urn is to the East and the gate of the North urn is to the west, both of which were built in the late Ming Dynasty. There is a Guandi Temple sitting in the South and north of nanwengcheng, with carved beams and painted buildings, surrounded by wooden fences under the eaves. There is a tower on the top of the south gate. It was burned in the six years of the Tongzhi rebellion in the Qing Dynasty, and then restored. It has two floors.

The Ming and Qing Dynasty building complex in the city wall was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and expanded and rebuilt in the Daoguang and Guangxu periods of the Qing Dynasty, forming today's scale. It covers an area of 35000 square meters and a construction area of 3060 square meters. There are four streets in the city, namely Nanmen Street, Beimen Street (later called Wangjia Street), Cangmen street and BEIXIANG street. Taking today's Nanbei street as the boundary, there were Hejia Street (later changed to xingwenjuan) and yamen Street on the east side.

Around the beginning of the Republic of China, the north gate of the ancient city was in disrepair. Because of too much rain, many parts of the city wall collapsed, endangering the north gate and the Zhenwu hall at the top of the north gate. In the 18th year of the Republic of China, Yao Jun, then the county magistrate of the national government, restored it with local donations, and wrote a wooden plaque of "Taipingmen". The brick inscription "tianqimen" on the south gate and the brick inscription "Heyin town" on the urn gate are still in good condition.
