Shakadang trail

Shakadang trail, formerly known as mysterious valley trail, has beautiful scenery and is an Aboriginal style trail with local characteristics. The terrain of shakadang trail is very characteristic. The stream flows through the marble area. The calcium carbonate in marble is slightly dissolved by acid, so it often appears blue-green with beautiful curved lines. There are many kinds of animals and plants in this section of the road, such as Papilio variegata and Papilio purpurea. Sometimes you can see the spectacle of butterflies absorbing water, which is full of natural surprises

Traffic information: Shuttle Bus:

Take Guoguang bus, take the bus from Taichung or Hualien to Tianxiang, and stop along the way. Take the shuttle bus to Lishan and Hualien passenger bus to Tianxiang in Hualien City, and stop along the station.

Self driving:

1. Taipei Suhua highway - tourist center Taiba line - Taroko

2. Taitung Line 9 - tourist center line 8 - Taroko

3. From the north end of Taroko (cars from Ilan, Taipei, don't cross the liwuxi bridge), you can first pass Taroko tourist center, and then you can see the Mysterious Valley Bridge after the first tunnel (shakadang tunnel). You can go down the shakadang River by the spiral staircase, which is the shakadang (Mysterious Valley) trail.
