Yanbei Normal University

In 1958, Jinbei normal college was founded.

In 1962, North Shanxi Normal College was abolished.

In 1976, Jinbei normal college resumed and changed its name to Yanbei normal college.

In 1993, Yanbei normal college was upgraded to Yanbei normal college.

Datong Medical College

In 1965, Datong health school was upgraded to Datong Medical College.

Shanxi Polytechnic

In 1950, Datong Coal Industry School was founded.

In 1958, Datong Coal Industry School was upgraded to Datong Mining Institute.

In 1959, Datong Institute of mining and technology was transformed into Datong Coal Mine college.

In 1961, Datong Coal Mine college was rebuilt into Datong coal mine school

In 1975, the staff University of Datong Mining Bureau was founded (jointly signed with Datong coal mine school).

In 1984, Datong coal mine school was renamed Datong coal industry school.

In 1999, Datong Mining Bureau staff University and Datong Coal Industry School merged and upgraded to Shanxi mining vocational and technical college.

In 2004, Shanxi mining vocational and technical college was renamed as Shanxi Industrial Vocational and technical college.

On December 6, 2016, the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between Shanxi Datong University and the people's Government of Datong City and the unveiling ceremony of the primary school affiliated to Shanxi Datong University were held at the original branch of the 14th primary school in Datong City.

 

On December 13, 2017, the Department of education of Shanxi Province and the people's Government of Datong City signed a strategic cooperation agreement on jointly building Datong University.

 

On April 15, 2018, "Tongyao group biopharmaceutical academician workstation" and "Tongyao group biopharmaceutical academician workstation Shanxi Datong University Branch" were unveiled in Tongyao group

In May 2018, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the University became the master's degree authorization unit, and was approved to add the master's degree authorization points of Chinese language, literature and chemistry as well as the master's degree authorization points of engineering.

 

On October 24, 2019, the unveiling ceremony of "Huawei information and Network Technology College of Shanxi Datong University" jointly built by the University and Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. was held.
