Xixi temple, located in San Dietan, laowei, Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong, was built in 1972 by master Yongxing, President of the Bodhi society of Hong Kong.

Brief introduction to temples

The Western temple is located in San Dietan, laowei, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. Founded in 1973, it covers 120000 square feet. It's a famous jungle in Hong Kong. In the west, it is surrounded by Sandie lake, mountains, streams, green leaves and picturesque scenery. In 1974, after the main hall, a high hall with two sides and three swords was built. The upper floor is the dizang hall. The Bodhisattva is worshipped in the middle, and the ancestral hall is set on both sides. The lower floor is the Haihui tower. The hall was completed in 1995 with a grand opening ceremony.

In the later period, he successively completed the lecture hall, Wuguan hall, Buddhist Academy, Qi hall, dormitory, lotus pool and other buildings on the left and right sides of the main hall.

Architectural style

Western temple, imitating Chinese palace style architecture, with yellow glazed tiles on top, is majestic and majestic. The upper hall is dedicated to the three saints of the west, supplemented by Manjusri and Mahang Bodhisattva on the left and right, and Guanyin Bodhisattva on the left. The walls of the hall are inlaid with marble, the ceiling is carved with dragons, the beams are carved and the buildings are painted. On both sides for the eighteen Arhats stone statues, lifelike.

The Western temple is dedicated to the ancient Guanyin Bodhisattva of Ming Dynasty. It is the largest Cloisonne Guanyin Bodhisattva in China. It is very rare. In the middle of the temple downstairs, there is a tall golden lacquer Buddha as Maitreya hall, which is dedicated to Maitreya Bodhisattva. The Dharma is solemn, the compassion is broad, the smile is always open, and the glass is set around to protect the dust. Under the Maitreya seat in the Buddha, there are three multi treasure pagodas of three treasure Buddha.

Behind the main hall, there is a two-story high-rise building. On the upper floor, there is the hall of Tibetans. In the middle, there is the Bodhisattva of Tibetans. On both sides, there is the ancestral hall. On the lower floor, there is the Haihui tower. On the left and right of the main hall are the lecture hall, the five view hall, the Buddhist Academy, the Zhaitang, the dormitory and the lotus pool. In order to further expand the function of the Western temple in promoting Buddhism, a library was built after 1991 for tourists and nearby citizens to read. Behind the temple is a nine story pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas. Each floor houses different Buddha statues, and the space inside the pagoda is a Buddhist heritage museum.

Xixi temple is a pure ancestral hall built by master Yongxing to realize his dream.
