Light dome of MRT Meili Island Station

The beautiful island MRT station was ranked second in the "2012 most beautiful subway station" by the US tourism website bootsnall (the first place was Zhanshen Park Station in Montreal, Canada). Meili Island Station is named after the Meili Island incident which broke out here on December 10, 1979, shocked Taiwan society and affected the development of democratic movement. The MRT station is designed by Japanese architect Takamatsu shin, with prayer as the theme symbol. There are many public art works inside the station. The most famous dome of light is created by Italian artist Narcissus Quagliata. The top of the station is completely made of painted glass. The colorful dome will surprise you. In addition, the famous Taiwan film "ruffian hero" is also set here.
