Maitreya Buddha carved in Shengdong stone

Shengdong stone Maitreya Buddha statue is located in zanihou mountain, Zili village, Yezhi Township, 115 km north of Diqing Weixi County, Yunnan Province. There are many stalactites in the cave. The statue of Maitreya is carved on the stone wall 15 meters south of Lisheng cave. It is 1.88 meters high and 1.32 meters wide. It is dressed in cassock, barefoot and open-minded, holding rosary beads in the left hand and chest in the right hand. The whole statue is bold and unconstrained with simple lines.
