Xiachang Pavilion

Xiachang Pavilion is the second part of Phoenix Longevity Palace complex. Located in Shawan, it was formerly known as Jiangxi street. Living on the North Bank of Tuojiang River, facing the mountain and the water, it faces the Hongqiao bridge. From afar, you can see the clouds and trees of Qianshan Mountain, in the world of colored glass, and from near, you can see the smoke rising everywhere, and the hanging buildings hanging on both sides of the Strait. Built in the autumn of the Jiayin year of Xianfeng (1807), xiachang Pavilion is the only ancient pavilion in the county. It is a typical loft style building with wooden structure as the main body and is famous for its outstanding architectural achievements.

Xiachang Pavilion is a three story, three story eaves, six Zhang high, six square Pavilion, with a construction area of 136.90 square meters. Hanging eaves wing angle, exquisite carving, rigorous design. After more than 100 years of wind and rain erosion, and after several other uses, the doors and windows were damaged, the wind chime disappeared, some components were moldy and rotten, and the facilities in the pavilion were all gone, but the main body was still standing tall. In 1984, the people's Government of the county appropriated 40000 yuan for the renovation of xiachang Pavilion, which was completed in 1985. The renovation has become a tourist attraction.

Xiachang Pavilion

Xiachang Pavilion is located in Wanshou Palace in the east of the city, with beautiful Dongling mountains behind and flowing Tuo water in front. The loft, built in 1854, is a hexagonal wooden structure with three floors and a height of 20 meters. The main body of the pavilion is a large timber structure with beams lifted. There are 12 large columns supporting the top of the pavilion, one eaves on each floor. The pavilion shrinks inward layer by layer, like a tower rather than a tower. The lower layer of the roof is gentle, while the upper layer is steep. The eaves of each layer are raised and supported by rolling shed under the eaves. The six ridges of the third layer of the roof meet at one point and are covered with colorful glass round gourd top, which is simple and elegant.

The interior of xiachang Pavilion is decorated with antique style. There are 6 flower windows and doors on the lower floor. There are all kinds of flowers, birds, fish, insects and figures on it. The plaque on the front door reads "enjoying the scenery and relaxing the mind", the plaque on the side door reads "healthy qi produces brightness", and the ceiling on the inside has the pattern of "dragon and Phoenix playing with pearls". Inside the front column engraved couplet cloud: a pavilion facing the river, Nanhua to the opposite; Wanshan Chaofeng, Dongling in the head. There is a long couplet on the back column, which says: Dengjie Pavilion, overlooking the Tuojiang River, watching the rippling Qinghe River, carrying the local friendship into the lake and sea waves, lingering around Taiwan Island; Wangjiang City, Zhong Jianqi, Xilin gully deep, nurturing the national festival, galloping the literary arena, gathering the wind and cloud of Wuling Mountain.

Along the wooden ladder to the second floor, there is a plaque on the front reading "pitching chant". A couplet is engraved on the big wooden columns on both sides. The couplet says: raise your eyes, Sixin mountain looks like a picture, and the pavilion is near the river by the window. The roof of the building is painted with "two dragons snatching treasure", surrounded by dozens of stories about "the marriage of mice", and the famous painter Huang Yongyu's giant traditional Chinese painting "lotus, red crane".

On the third floor, a picture of "double phoenix rising sun" on the top of the building makes people feel peaceful. On the upper floor, the winding corridor is surrounded, and the corridor overlooks the Jiuqu Tuojiang River, where the river is like a drill and the willows are like smoke; on the South China, the pines are green and the cypresses are towering. At this time, the wind from six sides makes people feel extraordinary and fresh.
