The tower is on the top of Donggao mountain in Lecheng Town, Yueqing City. In 1175-1178, Zhao Yanhui and Yuan caixuxing, county magistrates, built the original pagoda and demolished it in the 1950s. The tower is about 18 meters high, brick structure, six sides and seven levels of hollow pavilion type. The flat seat is made of flat bricks, which are very shallow. There are many inscriptions on the bricks of the pagoda. It is one of the "eight sceneries of xiaotai". East tower towering sea and sky, see clouds and smoke from time to time, can be seen dozens of miles away. In Yuan Dynasty, Li Xiaoguang's poem "clouds and smoke in the East Tower" says: "there are more towers on the fourth day of the sea and the moon, and the wind blows away. When the smoke disappears and the sun rises, no one comes to see the cloud mountain alone. " There are quite a number of famous people who visit the tower. There are also words such as "outside of Wang Meixi's study" on the road below the tower. The tower is majestic and graceful, with high historical, scientific and artistic value. In 1989, it was listed as the third batch of cultural relics protection units in Zhejiang Province.
