Yanlaike Miao Village

The ancient Miao language named "khaodroub" (Miao Language), which means "Miao village where strange rocks gather", is located in Yuntai Mountain, 150 meters north of huangsiqiao ancient city, a phoenix scenic spot in Western Hunan. It is located in the center of the Eastern Branch of Miao dialect in China.

Shanzhai has a simple and primitive appearance, rich historical and cultural accumulation, primitive natural ecology and rich folk customs. In particular, there are mysterious and thrilling religious and cultural phenomena of Nuo witches, such as "chasing corpses", "Fangguo", "shangdaoshan" and "Gangxian", which are still preserved in the original ecology. This is the window to understand the Miao culture in China and explore the west of Hunan.

Yanlaike Miao village is located along the great wall of southern China. It is the front of the Miao uprising army and the historical feudal dynasty. Beacon towers, ancient official roads, blockhouses, and village walls are left in the village, which witnessed the shocking history of national war 200 years ago. Yanlaike Miao village was officially listed as "research base of Chinese Miao military culture" by Hunan Miao society in 2006.
