Wanming tower

Wanming pagoda is not far from the Longevity Palace. It stands on the North Bank of Tuojiang River. It is 21 meters high and is a large-scale hexagonal brick pagoda. Some students often use it as the material for sketching. Wanming tower, which lights up at night, is the most attractive. The shadow of the tower is reflected in the middle of the river. There are two towers on the shore in the water, which are very spectacular and suitable for taking pictures. Wanming tower stands tall and beautiful on the Bank of Tuojiang River, and its reflection is reflected in the blue waves of Tuojiang River, which is very beautiful and moving.

Wanming tower

Wanming pagoda is located on the Bank of Tuojiang River at Shawan huangtukan at the foot of Qinglong mountain in the east of Fenghuang ancient town, on the east of xiachang pavilion with carved beams and painted buildings, and on the west of Fengyu bridge with rainbow like momentum. It is built on the site of word paper stove. Proposed by the famous painter Huang Yongyu in 1985, funded by the masses and supported by the government, it was built in 1988, hence the name of Wanming tower.

Old tower

The former tower was built in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty to burn letterpaper. The original tower was a three-stage hexagonal brick tower, with a height of 11 meters. The platform was a regular hexagon, which was built with red fine sand stones. The height was about 1 meter. The tower body was built on the platform, and the foundation was built with red sand stones carved with fine drills at the height of 1 meter. The top was sealed with sleeping bricks, and the bottom was large and the top was small Smoke. The tower is three eaves and six corners, with colorful coloured glazed treasure Hu Lu top, and the tower is painted with lime powder and decorated with coloured drawing. Facing the water side is the front. At a height of more than one meter, there is a moon arch furnace pond for burning paper. The top layer of the tower is written as "Wen Guang she Dou", the middle layer as "mainstay", and the lower layer as "calligraphy flowing". People burn paper here all year round. It is a pity that the pagoda was destroyed during the cultural revolution, leaving only ruins.

New tower

Wanming pagoda is located on the North Bank of Shawan of Tuojiang River, and it is opposite to xiachang Pavilion and Hongqiao. In 1985, Huang Yongyu called on local people to raise money to rebuild the seven storey building. The county people's government and people from all walks of life responded and actively sponsored funds. It was completed in October 1988 at a cost of 5900 yuan. According to the people's intention of funding the construction of the tower, it was named "Wanming tower".

There are lights inside and outside the tower, which make it bright at night. It matches the red lanterns on both sides of the river. The walls of the tower are covered with tourist titles, and some are even located on the walls more than two meters high.

It's made of green brick, mixed mortar and reinforced concrete. It's six directions and seven levels. Each layer has six angles. It's exquisite and beautiful. It's hung with copper wind bells. The height of the tower is 22.98 meters, the diameter of the first floor is 4.5 meters, and the diameter of each floor is reduced by 0.3 meters. The surface of the tower is elegantly decorated, and its body is straight and beautiful, just like a girl standing on the Bank of Tuojiang River. The body of the tower is reflected in the blue waves of the Tuojiang River, and it is very beautiful and moving.

There are six couplets on the first floor, all of which are written by celebrities, with different styles. For example, Wu Guanlin, the former county magistrate, wrote a couplet: "the pagoda is quiet, the Wu is high in the sky to attract the Phoenix, the river is clear, the bank is winding, and the flowing water hides the Jiaos.". Tian Hedan, a Democrat, wrote a couplet: "the joy of rising from the clouds is just on the side of the water.".

Why did you build a paper furnace? It is said that after the ancient city of Bijia was expanded in 1776, it looked like a Bijia, so it was named "Bijia city". In order to cultivate fengshui, a pagoda of calligraphy, paper and stove was built by huangtukan River in Shawan, like a pen, corresponding to Bijia City, in order to make Fenghuang culture prosperous.
