Songyu Power Plant

Xiamen Songyu Power Plant (Huaxia power) is a national key construction project in the eighth five year plan. It installed two imported domestic 300MW Coal-fired Units, which were officially put into commercial operation in 1997. In 2000, the power plant was officially named "first class thermal power plant" by state power corporation. At present, the power plant is taking the reform, development and management as the main line, strengthening the main business and developing multi economy as the focus, implementing the "0304 strategy" and striving towards the goal of "world-class thermal power plant". Xiamen Songyu Power Plant is a key project of the eighth five year plan and a first-class thermal power plant. Songyu Power Plant is jointly funded by the State Development and Investment Corporation, Fujian investment and Development Corporation, Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd., Xiamen International Trust and Investment Corporation and Hong Kong Bank of China Group Investment Corporation. It is a large coal-fired power plant with Sino foreign joint venture. The first phase of the project is to install two domestic imported 300 MW coal-fired units, which started construction in November 1993 and officially put into commercial operation in 1997. The total investment of the project is 3.226 billion yuan. By 2000, Songyu Power Plant has generated 13.524 billion kwh of electricity, which has made great contributions to the economic development of Xiamen Special Economic Zone and the Golden Triangle region of Southern Fujian.

Xiamen Songyu Power Plant has become an important part of the "one-day tour of industrial environmental protection" launched by Xiamen. Now it has received nearly 1000 primary and secondary school students, retired cadres and non professionals from Zhangzhou and other places in Xiamen to visit the plant. This is a new way of Songyu Power Plant Industrial tourism. Accompanied by the factory, the guests first watched the video of the construction process of the power plant, the exhibition hall showing the achievements of the power plant, then visited the garden like plant area, the plant and the control room. Guests not only saw the city's largest capacity boilers and a variety of power generation equipment, but also learned about the production process of electricity.
