Pingyuan fort is located on the hillside of the east north foot of Jinji mountain, qijiashan street, Beilun District, Ningbo City. It was built in 1887 (the 13th year of Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty). It was rammed with triad soil, with a curved plane. It is 20 meters long and 5.3 meters high. In 1936, on the eve of the Anti Japanese War, the Pingyuan fort was removed and the cannon was moved to the Zhenyuan fort of tongkoumen. In 2007, the base of the fort was moved to the old site of Weidou primary school by the cultural relics department for collection. At present, there is only one sanhetu wall in Pingyuan fort. In November 1996, as a part of zhenhaikou coastal defense site, it was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council.
