Hongyuan battery

At the foot of wulonggang in the south of Zhaobao mountain. Founded in 1887 (the 13th year of Guangxu), it played a role in the Sino French war and Zhenhai war. The turret is round, covering an area of 269 square meters, with a diameter of 16.5 meters, a height of 6 meters and a wall thickness of 2 meters. In the southeast, there is an opening with a height of 5 meters and a width of 3 meters in the northwest. The platform wall is built with steamed glutinous rice and yellow mud. The original German made gun was demolished early. It confronts the Pingyuan fort at the foot of Jinji mountain on the south bank across the river. Now the top of the platform is destroyed and the wall is standing. In July 1981, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit of the county. On December 12, 1989, it was listed as one of the coastal defense sites in zhenhaikou, a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.

Founded by Xue Fucheng of Taidao and supervised by Du Guanying of Taidao, it is a double ring semi-circular turret with a view line of 180 degrees. With the gradual escalation of the war and the extension of artillery range, the first line of defense can no longer meet the needs of the situation. Xue Fucheng made a comprehensive survey of the situation and geographical location of Yongjiang estuary, pushed the first line of defense two kilometers away, established the first line of defense in Lishan, and made Zhaobaoshan defensive position the second line of defense. Xue Fu wrote an inscription called "Hongyuan Fort inscription" at the end of the inscription: "Lishan has a prominent coastal terrain and is attacked on three sides. According to the Yongjiang River Estuary, it can take into account all the platforms. Now it has this new gun, which is used to defend the Jiaomen in the East and the tiger in the west, so that the enemy ships do not dare to moor in the inland ocean. Although the iron armor can be broken, it can be used skillfully . I've heard that the western countries manage their fortresses with different ages and different months. " The inscription stele is exquisitely carved. It is a pity that the tortoise is buried under the stele. Later, due to the construction of the weather station, it disappeared.

During the Anti Japanese War, Lishan also added fortifications, using the latest modern technology, built another huge concrete and steel fort. In the summer of 1932, the German military general consultant fotzer came to yongjiangkou fortress to investigate and found that the Hongyuan fort in lishanyuan could not meet the growing military needs. He proposed to build a new fort. The original Hongyuan Fort wall was used as a shelter, and a basin fort with a diameter of 14 meters and a height of 3 meters was built in the center of the original fort. The 360 degree rotating rail is installed in the fort to make the fort play a greater power. There are four anti-aircraft machine guns and two 20 mm anti-aircraft guns.

Glorious achievements

During the four years from the beginning of the Anti Japanese war in 1937 to 1940, the Japanese army bombarded the Hongyuan Fort many times. Our fort fought back against the Japanese air force and made great achievements. For example, on June 7, 1939, six Japanese planes flew near the mouth of Yongjiang River, circled a few circles above, and then suddenly dived to Hongyuan fort in an attempt to sneak attack. The shooters of anti-aircraft guns had been alert for a long time. They followed and aimed their guns. They fired 8 rounds of explosive bombs at the first Japanese plane in succession. The tail of the Japanese plane emitted thick black smoke and fell on the sea about 800 meters away from the Bank of Yongjiang river. After parachuting, the pilot was surrounded by soldiers of our garrison regiment and shot himself.
