Qinghua Temple

Qinghua temple is located in Baodugu National Forest Park in Shandong Province. It used to be Xiaguan temple. It is a folk saying: "once you have irrigated the temple for 60 years, you can't submerge the Shangguan temple." It's said that when the mountain torrents came, Taoists of Chaoyun Temple stopped the flood. The mountain torrents had no way to pour, and they flowed into the low-lying Qinghua temple. Qinghua temple is flooded every year. Guanyin can't see it any more, so He intercedes with Taishang Laojun. But Taishang Laojun doesn't want to come forward and sends LV Dongbin to deal with her. Guanyin had an idea to compare wine with LV Dongbin and bet on the Sutra Pavilion of Qinghua temple. When LV Dongbin heard that it was better than wine, he agreed immediately. Knowing that he was not the opponent of LV Dongbin, Guanyin took the initiative to give the Sutra pavilion to LV Dongbin as his cave. The Taoists of Chaoyun temple were afraid that Lu Dongbin's cave would be flooded, so they did not dare to block the flood any more. So they built a spillway behind the temple to lead the water down the mountain. From then on, the temple would not be flooded again.

Chaoyun cave

Chaoyun cave, also known as "cloud cave", is located in Baodugu National Forest Park in Shandong Province. Chaoyun cave is a karst cave with limestone geological structure. The air containing a lot of water vapor in the cave flows out and forms fog when it is cold. In 2000, Baodugu National Forest Park, Shandong Province, built a ladder to the top of the mountain, a "Tiantai square" and a "moon Pavilion" on the top of the mountain, built more than 800 meters of climbing steps, and built new catering service facilities.

History and Humanities

Baodugu has a long history. As early as the Paleolithic age, there were human beings living here. The Wangling site and xiaogucun site at the foot of the mountain are the witness of ancient history. It is recorded in Liu Xiang's biography of the immortals in the Western Han Dynasty, Ge Hong's baopuzi neipian · Jindan in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Li Jifu's yuanhejun county annals in the Tang Dynasty, and shuyiji written by the master of Dongxuan in the Kangxi period in the Qing Dynasty. The mountain, together with Mt. Tai, Mt. Hua and Mt. Emei, is listed as "thirty two blessed places in yunei" and "the first cave in the west of the sea".
