Dongmenyu scenic spot

Dongmenyu is located in the east of Tongshan ancient city (Tongling town) on Dongshan Island, about one kilometer above the sea. The total area of the island is nearly one square kilometer. There are many cultural relics on the island, such as the "Yunshan stone room" and "Yingzuiyan" by Huang Daozhou, the Ming Dynasty's great scholar, and the stone carvings of famous people in the past dynasties, as well as the strange rocks and rocks of different shapes made of sea eroded lava. It is famous for its beautiful scenery. Along with Gulangyu in Xiamen, jiangxinyu in Wenzhou and Lanyu in Taiwan, it is known as the four famous islets in China. The rocky peaks, with their grotesque rocks, rise high above Dongshan harbor's main point of going out to the ocean. A vast expanse of water and an abrupt peak make each other interesting. Along the stone path covered by trees, you can climb up the main peak of Lantau at an altitude of 91 meters to see Wenfeng tower. The tower is an octagonal solid building with dense eaves. It has seven floors and is made of granite. It was built by Cai Chao, Fujian xunhaidao, in the 5th year of Jiajing reign of Ming Dynasty (526). Dongmenyu is neither big nor high, with an area of only 1 square kilometer. The highest mountain is only 91 meters above sea level. Due to its unique coast, numerous rocks and beautiful natural scenery, the island has attracted many film and television workers. So far, more than 20 films and TV plays have been filmed here. "Dr. Matthew island" in China's first science fiction film "dead light on coral island" is dongmenyu. 　　

"Journey to the west", "love of the sea", "Eight Immortals crossing the sea" and other films and TV series also use dongmenyu as the location shooting base. The whole island of dongmenyu is in the shape of "Gong", which is divided into three parts: the south section, the middle section and the north section. 　　

The south section of dongmenyu is composed of several small hills, which is the most abundant and concentrated landscape area on the island. The landscape of grotesque rocks and caves with different shapes, formed by natural reefs, is scattered among them, changing scenery step by step, and is beautiful everywhere; there are many human landscapes, dotted with rich connotations. The greening rate on the island is very high, the trees are green, the sea breeze blows, with a faint smell of soil, refreshing. 　　

The natural landscape mainly includes Yingzuiyan, fisherman fishing, turtle welcoming, gecko playing, toad watching the sky, mandarin duck playing monkey and so on. The cultural landscape mainly includes Dongming temple, Wenfeng tower, Yunshan stone room, Wenchang Pavilion, zhongdeju, etc. The middle section of dongmenyu is the link between the south section and the north section. It is mainly a strip beach about 200 meters long. A windbreak belt in the middle divides the beach into East and west parts. The beach in the East is called "beiaowei", and the beach in the west is called "daaodi". Both the East and West beaches are good places for swimming and waves.

The windbreak belt in the middle has been opened up into a forest farm, and a large number of fruit trees, such as oranges, have been introduced; various flowers, such as Bougainvillea and oleander, have been cultivated. After playing in the sea, you can taste fruits and enjoy flowers, which is also a good enjoyment. The northern section of dongmenyu is called fo'ao. Along the seashore, there are reefs and small sand beaches, and there are several hills in the middle. The vegetation on the mountains is green, and mainly consists of wind, sand and alkali resistant tree species, such as Casuarina equisetifolia, acacia, etc. On the south coast of this section, there is a Dongming temple built in the Ming Dynasty. It used to be a small temple. In recent years, believers at home and abroad have raised huge funds to expand it, and built temples such as ten thousand Buddha Hall, heavenly king hall and reclining Buddha altar, with a total area of more than 6000 square meters, forming a large Buddhist Temple group. In the south of the temple, there are small beaches, reefs, caves, and many stone inscriptions. The surrounding natural scenery is beautiful, the mountains are lush, quiet and pleasant.
