Danzhou Tropical Botanical Garden

Hainan Tropical Botanical Garden is one of the earliest Tropical Botanical Gardens in China. There are seven tropical spice plants, tropical medicinal plants, tropical fruit trees, tropical oil plants and tropical ornamental plants. There are more than 1000 kinds of rare tropical plants in more than 40 countries in the botanical garden. It is a treasure house of precious tropical trees in the world and has high ornamental value. At present, Danzhou municipal government plans to invest 200 million yuan to connect juntun flower orchard and two tropical botanical gardens to build Danzhou tropical flower orchard with an area of ten thousand mu, making it a large-scale tourism and entertainment project integrating exotic flowers and trees, birds singing, flowers fragrance, landscape flowers and fruits.

Danzhou tropical botanical garden is located in two academies of Danzhou City, Hainan Province, covering an area of 32 hectares. It was established in 1958 as a herbarium of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences and the former South China University of tropical agriculture. In the botanical garden, there are more than 1000 kinds of rare tropical plants introduced from more than 40 countries. It is a treasure house of tropical plant resources in China.

Development history

Located in Baodao new village, Nada Town, Danzhou City, Hainan Province, covering an area of 32 hectares, established in 1958, it is the herbarium of the former South China Institute of tropical crops (renamed South China Tropical Agricultural University in 1996) and the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences. On August 14, 2007, South China University of tropical agriculture and Hainan University merged. Since then, the botanical garden has been assigned to the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences. There are more than 1000 kinds of rare tropical plants introduced from more than 40 countries in the botanical garden. It is not only the treasure house of tropical plant resources in China, but also the epitome of tropical crop resources in the world.

Tropical fruit tree area: there are tropical "Guowang" Mango; "guohou" Durian and cashew, one of the world famous "four nuts"; there are also human heart like fruit; rambutan with flesh spines; yolk fruit with flesh color and taste similar to boiled egg yolk.

Tropical precious tree area: ReZuo Liangyuan botanical garden not only has "famous trees" from all over the world: mahogany, mahogany, teak, sandalwood, red sandalwood, but also has Hainan's native national protected endangered plants Qingmei, Polei, Agaricus, and even Hercules, which has a larger proportion than water and is extremely hard.

Tropical spice plant area: famous spice plants include yilanxiang, the king of flowers, xianglancao, the only king of food spices, tuluxiang, clove, cinnamon and xiangmaocao, which are one of the three major creams.

Tropical oilseed region: many famous oilseed plants have come to settle down. Such as oil palm, oil mangosteen, Camellia oleifera, Ma Fu oil. There are many kinds of medicinal plants. There are some world-famous anticancer plants, such as Cephalotaxus hainanensis and Maytenus, as well as the well-known pangdahai and nux vomica.

There are not only famous trees from all over the world, such as mahogany, mahogany, teak, sandalwood and red sandalwood, but also Hainan's native national protected endangered plants, such as Qingmei and Polei, and even Hercules, which has a greater proportion than water.

In the botanical garden of ReZuo Liangyuan, one of the most poisonous plants in the world is the blood sealed throat, and there are bread tree, sausage tree, cantaloupe tree, aquatic plant Wang Lian, etc. There are 42 kinds of rare and endangered plants protected by the state and more than 500 kinds of tropical flowers in the park. The grass and flowers here are colorful, rare and luxuriant. The rare plants here make visitors' eyes wide open and forget to return. There is also a butterfly museum in the hospital. There are thousands of butterfly specimens, which are colorful and eye-catching.
