Dongying Village

Dongying Village is the most populous administrative village in Fuqing City, with a total population of more than 12000 people, known as the first village in Fuqing. The village is located in the coastal area, with a large beach area, a large number of people engaged in business and going abroad, rapid economic development, and continuous improvement of villagers' living standards. Dongying Village

Dongying Village is subordinate to Jiulong sub district office of Jiaozhou City. It is adjacent to Yingfang village and dengjiazhuang village in the north, Xiying village and xiaohouwang village in the west, Dongying salt farm in the South and Dagu River in the East. It is a place with a total area of 26.50 square kilometers, which is close to mountains and sea, magnificent and elegant natural landscape, rich warehouses and prosperous culture (more than 100 ancient sailing boats). In recent years, with the development of fishery production and aquaculture, the original barren beaches and coasts have been gradually developed and constructed with fish, shrimp, crab, shellfish and other breeding areas. The business is prosperous and the population is growing. Now there are 538 households with 1765 people in the village, and the arable land is 1300 mu.

In June 2019, Dongying Village was expropriated for the need of constructing the China Shanghai Cooperation Organization local economic and trade cooperation demonstration zone.

The origin of the village

Dongying Village

Originally known as zhengjiayingzi, it is located on the northwest coast of jiaoao, which is 3km to the northwest of Dagu River Estuary.

Historical research shows that during the reign of Jiajing and Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (about the 16th century), two brothers, Zheng Jiang and Zheng Hai, came from Haiqu and houchangchengling in Wulian to Tancheng. Their elder brother Zheng Jiang went to Shahezi (now Yingkou) in Liaoning Province to settle down. Zheng Hai settled here and became the ancestor of the Zheng family. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jiaozhou navy camp was located here. As evidenced by the former Jiaozhou border defense site and the remains of nanfengtai in the 1950s and 1960s, xujiayingzi on the west side and luojiayingzi on the East Bank of Dagu River on the east side of Jiaozhou navy camp are still in use today. \

The first oil well of Shengli Oilfield was drilled in Dongying Village of Dongying City, and the city was also named after this village.

Economic situation

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the economic life of Dongying Village was mainly based on agriculture and fishery. In the late 1970s, the industry, sideline and fishery began to develop. Many enterprises, such as shoe factory, wood root factory and carton factory, were established successively. The fishing fleet was built to go out to sea, and the industry, sideline and fishery prospered. After 1980, with the development of the rural economic system reform, the villagers spontaneously developed farming, built more than 100 high-powered fishing boats, and developed more than 60 beach farmers, which led to the rapid development of the village economy and made great changes in the villagers' living standards. It has become a land of fish and rice and a leading fishing village in Jiaozhou City.
