Shenzhen Grand Theatre is one of the eight famous cultural facilities of the special zone invested and built by the municipal government in 1984, and officially opened in 1989. Transformation process

In 2004, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government decided to transform the Grand Theater, which has been in operation for more than ten years and has outdated equipment and facilities, mainly to transform and update the equipment in fire protection, power supply and distribution, air conditioning, water supply and drainage and intellectualization, so as to comprehensively integrate the indoor and outdoor environment. The renovation project is organized and implemented by Shenzhen Municipal Construction and works Department, the outdoor design is undertaken by Auber architectural and planning design company of France, the interior design is undertaken by Shenzhen Institute of Beijing Architectural and planning design company, and the construction unit is Shenzhen pan China Engineering Co., Ltd. After the transformation, the Grand Theater takes on a new look, reflecting the internationalization and human culture. You will feel safer and more comfortable watching the performance in the renovated Grand Theater (1199 seats) and Concert Hall (612 seats).

On March 22, 2006, the reconstructed Grand Theater held a grand performance with a new look. For the first performance, Shanghai Yueju theater is invited to rehearse the Chinese classic Yueju Opera "dream of Red Mansions" to welcome the presence and guidance of NPC deputies, CPPCC members and the public. Hundreds of precious pictures of the Grand Theater's glorious history are displayed in the theater lobby. In 2009, the government again allocated 18 million yuan to renovate the stage facilities of the Grand Theatre.

The Grand Theater is fully functional, comfortable and elegant. It has the Grand Theater (1199 seats), Concert Hall (612 seats), spacious lobby, hotel and other functional facilities.

The former glory has passed, and the new grand theater will continue to undertake the major festival activities of the government, actively provide more exquisite art products for the public, meet the needs of the public for elegant art to the maximum extent, and realize the cultural rights of the public.
