Longxue island is a small island in the south of Nansha District, Guangzhou city. It covers an area of about two square kilometers. It is located on the northwest side of Lingdingyang. The Pearl River water flowing through Jiaomen and Humen flows into the sea from its two sides. Development history

Longxue island tourist area is a joint venture between the state-owned Pearl River overseas Chinese farm and Hong Kong guangqiao tourist trade company, and named after the island. Based on its sea water, beaches, mythical modern sea caves and islands, buildings, seafood, plantain and other tourism resources. The construction of the tourist area started in November 1980 and a beach swimming pool has been built. Longgong gate tower, holiday villa, electronic playground, seafood restaurant, tiesuoqiao, sun viewing Pavilion, chuanshandong, Huadong and other facilities, Guangzhou shipping company has built steel pile berths and wharves to ensure safe anchoring in class IV wind and wave conditions, and ships and motorboats are connected to Guangzhou and Wanqingsha. Longxue island is a scenic spot with rich tourism resources and many tourists. In ancient times, the inner sea of the Pearl River Estuary was much wider than it is now. Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai and many other cities and Panyu were still a land of glory at that time.

It was not until 1928 that several poor families in Dongguan settled here. By the 1980s, there were more than 600 residents, including power stations, agricultural machinery maintenance stations, tourism agencies, supply and marketing agencies, aquatic products purchasing stations and grocery stores. The soil layer on the island is fertile, with a arable area of 0.5 square kilometers, producing bananas, plantains, lotus roots, etc.

Beautiful legend

It is said that there are several deep and open caves in the south of Longxue Island, where the Dragon King of the South China Sea lives. It is also said that dragons often appear on the sea and take these caves on the island as caves. This is the origin of the name of Longxue island or Longxue island. It is also said that these caves are treasure caves of Zhang baozai, a famous pirate in Guangdong Province in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.
