Shandong Art College

Founded in 1958, Shandong art college is one of the 31 independent undergraduate art colleges in China. It is the first comprehensive art college in Shandong Province to set up art education. It is also the construction unit of Shandong talent training characteristic famous school. After more than 50 years of construction and development, it has formed an art institution with profound cultural heritage, complete disciplines and specialties, high level of education and superior conditions, which plays an important role in Shandong art education and talent training. The school has two campuses, Wendong and Changqing, covering an area of 1313 mu. At present, there are more than 8000 full-time college students and 630 graduate students.

The school has now formed a multi-level school running pattern including technical secondary school, general college, postgraduate, master of Arts (MFA) and adult education, involving four university disciplines of art, literature, engineering and management. The school has 13 teaching units, including Conservatory of music, Academy of fine arts, Academy of drama and film, Academy of music education, Academy of design, Academy of art management, Academy of dance, Academy of drama, Academy of media, vocational education, Academy of adult education, Academy of international art exchange and teaching Department of public courses, with more than 70 majors (including directions). The university has the right to confer master's degree in five first-class disciplines under the art category, and is one of the first batch of "master of arts professional degree" (MFA) education units in China and the application units for master's degree by in-service personnel with the same academic level. Musicology, fine arts, drama and art are the provincial key disciplines, while music culture research base, cultural creative industry and management research center and Shandong folk art research base are the provincial research bases. Musicology and ethnomusicology were approved by Shandong Province to set up Taishan scholar post. There are more than 800 teachers in the school, including nearly 400 teachers with doctor's and master's degrees, 10 experts enjoying special allowance from the State Council Government, and nearly 30 outstanding teachers in China, young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions from Shandong Province, leaders of key disciplines at the provincial level, and famous teachers at the provincial level.

Our school's painting, public utilities management and visual communication design have been approved by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance as the characteristic specialty construction points of colleges and universities, and the majors of performance, musicology, radio and television editing and directing have been approved as the brand characteristic specialty of colleges and universities by Shandong Provincial Department of education. The school has 14 provincial excellent courses, 4 provincial teaching teams and more than 10 national and provincial teaching achievement awards. During the 11th Five Year Plan period, 139 scientific research projects at or above the department level have been approved, 113 books have been published, 199 papers have been published in core journals, and 298 awards for scientific research achievements at or above the department level have been obtained. In recent years, it has hosted more than 100 large-scale national and provincial cultural and art exhibitions and high-level cultural and art exchange activities, and teachers and students of the school have won more than 2000 awards in competitions at or above the Department and bureau level.

The university has established friendly intercollegiate exchanges and cooperation with Griffith University in Australia, tankook University in South Korea, Yousong University in South Korea, grand saloon National Conservatory of music and dance in France, santamonik college in the United States and other foreign art colleges as well as Taiwan Art University. Through the "2 + 2" school system, teachers visit and exchange students, we continue to strengthen cooperation and exchange.

Since its establishment, the university has cultivated a large number of outstanding graduates for the country and society, such as Peng Liyuan, Ni Ping, Chen Jin, Liu Xilin, Wang Yidong, Sui Jianguo, etc. they have made outstanding achievements in their respective fields and made important contributions to the cultural and artistic undertakings of Shandong and even the whole country.
