The Naval Aeronautical Engineering College of the Chinese people's Liberation Army is a military college that mainly trains junior naval command officers and aeronautical and astronautical engineering technical officers. Founded in 1950, it is one of the first military academies established in New China. In 1963, it was designated as a key university by the Commission of science, technology and industry for national defense. In 1979, it was listed as a national key university by the State Council. In 1986, it was granted the right to confer a master's degree, and in 2000, it was granted the right to confer a doctor's degree. In 2003, it established a post doctoral research mobile station.
