Qilu Normal University is located in Jinan with beautiful scenery. The predecessor of the school is Shandong Institute of education, which was founded in 1948. In 2010, with the approval of the Ministry of education and Shandong Provincial People's government, it was transformed into Qilu Normal University.

The school covers an area of 1274 Mu and has two campuses, Lixia and Zhangqiu, with beautiful campus environment; the total building area of the school is 185000 square meters; the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is more than 45 million yuan, 202 laboratories, multimedia classrooms, voice rooms, etc.; the collection of more than 700000 paper books and more than 1100 Chinese and foreign periodicals.

At present, the school has 6 normal undergraduate majors and 32 general junior college majors. Among them, there are four provincial-level brand specialty, characteristic specialty and demonstration specialty. In the 62 years of school running practice, the school has accumulated the advantages of teachers, network technology and scientific research in teacher education, and formed a general diploma college education system characterized by teacher education and coordinated development of normal majors and non normal majors.
