The PLA University of science and technology, located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, on the Bank of the Yangtze River, is a new comprehensive key military college. It is a joint venture of PLA Communication Engineering College, a national key university with a glorious history of more than half a century, PLA Engineering College, a national key university that ignites "the first explosion in Asia", Air Force Meteorological college, a pioneer of new China's military meteorological cause, and the 63rd Research Institute of the general staff, which is outstanding in the high-tech field

It is an important base for the state and the army to carry out scientific research, knowledge innovation, technological innovation and equipment development.

The school covers an area of more than 3700 mu, with a total area of 900000 square meters. It has 6 post doctoral research mobile stations, 1 post doctoral research workstation, 4 first-class discipline authorization points for doctoral and master's degrees, 26 doctoral degree authorization points, 49 master's degree authorization points, 48 undergraduate majors, and master of Engineering (8 engineering fields) professional degree authorization. It has three state key disciplines, one state key (cultivation) discipline, nine key disciplines of Jiangsu Province, four key disciplines of the whole army, three key laboratories of the whole army and 27 research and training centers of the whole army.

The university is mainly engaged in postgraduate and undergraduate education. It has a teaching and research team with high academic attainments represented by academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of engineering. It has excellent quality, reasonable structure and full of vitality. A group of teachers with high academic level and rich teaching experience are responsible for the teaching of the main courses, including one academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, two academicians of the Chinese Academy of engineering, one national famous teaching teacher, more than 650 professors and associate professors, more than 400 doctoral and master tutors, and 24 people enjoying special government subsidies, which provide a reliable guarantee for the cultivation of excellent talents.

Based on the cultivation of high-quality new military talents, the school adheres to strict management, pays attention to the construction of study style, and has strict requirements on the students' Ideological and moral character, professional learning and code of conduct. Local science high school graduates who volunteer to devote themselves to the cause of national defense and military modernization, love the motherland, abide by the law and discipline, are under the age of 20 (as of August 31 of that year), have physical conditions in line with the "physical examination standards for cadets enrolled in PLA Academies" and speak English as a foreign language can apply for the examination. After enrollment, the cadets pass the reexamination and obtain military status and student status within three months, and their families enjoy the treatment of military dependents; during their schooling, they enjoy the treatment of military supply system; after graduation, they are allocated by the General Political Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army in the whole army.
