Founded in 2002, huaruan Software College of Guangzhou University is an independent college at undergraduate level approved by the Ministry of education. It is the only software college among more than 300 independent colleges in China. It has won the honorary titles of "China's top ten brand independent colleges", "China's top ten advantageous professional colleges", "educational institution with the most development potential in the 21st century", "national education system network demonstration unit" and so on.

It is a modern university with pleasant environment, perfect teaching equipment, modern teaching management and advanced education concept. There are nine departments, one department and three research institutes. The nine departments are: Department of software engineering, Department of network technology, Department of computer, Department of digital media system, Department of games, Department of electronics, Department of management, Department of international economy and trade, Department of foreign languages; one is the basic department; the three research institutes are the Institute of software, Institute of information science, and Institute of higher education. There are more than 60 majors with more than 10000 students.

The college adopts the principle of "three three systems" in the introduction of teachers. The teaching team consists of three parts: 1) teachers from traditional universities with high professional titles and rich teaching experience; 2) engineers from enterprises with engineering practice and management experience, who can integrate practical experience, latest technology and enterprise thinking into teaching; 3) overseas students with teaching and working experience We can introduce overseas advanced teaching ideas and broaden international vision.
