Tongling university is a multi-disciplinary provincial undergraduate university with economics and management as the main subject and coordinated development of engineering, literature, science, law and other disciplines. It is located in Tongling City, Anhui Province, which is one of the birthplaces of bronze culture in China and known as the "ancient copper capital of China".

The school has two campuses, covering an area of 1310 mu (about 873600 square meters). At present, there are 747 teaching staff, including more than 600 full-time teachers, nearly 200 professors and associate professors, and more than 400 doctors and masters. There are 1 special subsidy expert from the State Council, 3 national model teachers and excellent teachers, and 2 provincial famous teachers. There are 14478 full-time undergraduate students. At present, the college has 1 million paper books and more than 1500 Chinese and foreign periodicals. In order to meet the needs of internationalization of higher education, the college actively carries out foreign exchange and cooperation, and has established exchange and cooperation relations with universities in the United States, South Korea, Argentina and Taiwan. With Buenos Aires University in Argentina, the "Spanish training center of Anhui Province" was jointly established, and the "2 + 2" double degree joint training project for undergraduates was carried out with Yousong University in Korea.

Through the construction and development in recent years, the school's education and teaching quality has been continuously improved, its ability to serve the society has been continuously enhanced, and its school running reputation has been continuously improved. In 2010, the admission lines of liberal arts and science majors in Anhui Province were 545 points and 529 points respectively, exceeding the second line of Anhui Province by 11 points and 22 points respectively. In 2011, the provincial liberal arts and science undergraduate line scored 523 and 502 respectively, exceeding the provincial control line by 13 and 25 respectively.
