Wannan Medical College

Wannan Medical College is a provincial higher medical undergraduate college in Anhui Province and one of the first national units with the right to confer bachelor's and master's degrees. It is an excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation School of the Ministry of education. It is located in Wuhu, a famous historical city known as "the great port of the Yangtze River and the backbone of Anhui Province".

The school has three campuses of Binjiang, zhelu and Yinhu, covering an area of more than 700 mu. Among them, the Huizhou style of Binjiang campus complements the modern style, surrounded by green water, beautiful environment, complete facilities and complete conditions. It is the main campus of our school, with more than 27000 students. In 2015, 3800 full-time college students were recruited from 12 provinces in China.

There are 14 teaching departments in the school of clinical medicine, College of Anesthesiology, College of medical imaging and laboratory, College of forensic medicine, College of Stomatology, College of nursing, College of pharmacy, College of Humanities and management, College of public health, and 1 College of continuing education. The undergraduate education has 22 specialties such as clinical medicine, involving six disciplines of medicine, science, engineering, management, economics and law. At present, graduate education has three first-class master degree authorized disciplines, three professional degree authorized disciplines, 29 second-class disciplines and two second-class disciplines out of the directory, covering basic medicine and clinical medicine.

The school has a reasonable structure, good quality of teachers, master's degree and above teachers account for more than 62% of the total. The school has a group of well-known professors who are tireless in teaching. Among them, Professor Liu Yide, who founded the first neurology ward in China and wrote the first neuropsychiatric monograph, Professor Sun Ruiyuan, one of the founders of quantitative pharmacology in China, Professor Shang Zhijun, who has devoted himself to the study of Materia Medica for 60 years and compiled the classic "new revision of Materia Medica of Tang Dynasty", and Professor Yang Zhijun, who has been engaged in the study of Materia Medica for 60 years; There are Professor Li Jiren, a master of traditional Chinese medicine and one of the seven tutors of internal medicine in China, and Professor Wang Tong, the first person to donate his body in our university. The university has a national characteristic specialty, a national clinical training base for general practitioners, a key discipline of traditional Chinese medicine in the 12th Five Year Plan of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine, a national drug clinical trial institution, and a provincial key research base for Humanities and social sciences. It is a national pilot unit for comprehensive professional reform and a national pilot unit for training mode reform of master's degree in clinical medicine There are nearly 100 provincial quality engineering projects, provincial key disciplines, clinical key specialties and key training specialties. The University publishes two academic journals, Journal of Wannan Medical College and Chinese clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. The library has more than 1.65 million paper and electronic books, and nearly 3000 Chinese and foreign journals. In recent years, our university has established cooperation and exchange relations with many universities and research institutions at home and abroad, forming a new pattern of open education.

The university has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' practical ability. It has 8 affiliated hospitals, including 2 directly affiliated hospitals, 6 non directly affiliated hospitals and 129 practice teaching bases. In recent years, it has become a national off campus practice teaching base for college students, and has been approved 400 national and Provincial innovation and entrepreneurship training plans for college students. Yijishan hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Province, was founded in 1888 by the Christian Church of the United States. It is the first western medicine hospital in Anhui Province and the first third class a hospital in China. It is a provincial medical center and medical technology guidance center integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, rehabilitation and first aid in southern Anhui and Wanjiang areas. The Second Affiliated Hospital was built in 1949. It was originally the people's Hospital of Xuancheng district. In 2012, with the approval of the provincial government, it was incorporated into our university as a whole. It is a class III class B General Hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. It has a number of key and characteristic specialties with high reputation. In recent years, our team has made great achievements in the National Medical College Students' clinical skills competition, and won the first, second and third prizes in the national finals.
