Shaoxing University of Arts and Science

Shaoxing University of Arts and science is an ordinary full-time public college, which is awarded master's degree. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Junior Normal School of Shanhui founded in 1909. Mr. Lu Xun once served as the school supervisor (president).

The school is located in Shaoxing, one of the first batch of famous historical and cultural cities in China. It has four campuses (Hedong, Hexi and Nanshan), Lanting, Shangyu and Jinghu, covering an area of 1980 mu, with a total construction area of 640000 square meters. It has 62 undergraduate majors, covering ten disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and art. There are 18 secondary colleges and one independent college (Yuanpei College of Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences).

At present, there are more than 23000 full-time students and 1842 teaching staff, including 1163 full-time teachers. There are 219 full-time teachers with doctor's degree, 584 with master's degree, 161 with senior professional title and 341 with deputy senior professional title; there are 3 famous teaching teachers in Colleges and universities of Zhejiang Province, 4 provincial teaching teams; and there are 8 external academicians.

With Chinese language and literature, business administration, chemistry three master's degree authorized disciplines. There are eight key disciplines in Zhejiang Province, including Chinese language and literature, computational mathematics, atomic and molecular physics, chemistry, geotechnical engineering, textile materials and textile design, nursing, and business administration.

The school has three national characteristic majors including Chinese language and literature, biological science and textile engineering, three provincial key majors including biological science, Chinese language and literature and business administration, and seven provincial key construction majors including accounting, primary education, textile engineering, mathematics and applied mathematics, chemistry, nursing, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation. There are 8 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers in Zhejiang Province, including biology, electrical engineering and electronics, physics, chemistry, economy and management, electronic science and information, mechanical engineering, and medicine, 1 provincial Talent Training Mode Innovation Experimental Zone in Zhejiang Province, and 22 excellent courses (undergraduate) in ordinary universities in Zhejiang Province. The University also has a number of scientific research institutions such as the Yue Culture Research Institute, and the published journal of Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences is the "national top 100 Journal of Social Sciences".
