Hunan University of foreign economics

Hunan International Economics College is a private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education. Founded by Hunan Falcon Industrial Co., Ltd. in 1997, the school was formerly known as "Xiangnan College of Arts and Sciences"; in 1998, it was relocated to luguyuan, Yuelu District, Changsha City, and renamed "Hunan Institute of Foreign Economics (Preparatory)"; in 2000, it was set up as a vocational college with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's government; in 2005, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of education and Hunan Provincial People's government. In 2009, the University obtained the right to confer bachelor's degree through the evaluation of the right to confer bachelor's degree. In the same year, the University joined the laureate International University Alliance.

At present, the school has 26158 full-time students, including 20467 undergraduate students and 3976 vocational college students. In the past 16 years, the school has trained 71653 professionals for the country and society.

There are 986 full-time teachers, including 261 teachers with senior titles, 557 teachers with intermediate titles, 69 doctors and 662 masters.

The campus covers an area of 956000 square meters, with a building area of 427600 square meters, including 225500 square meters of teaching and administrative rooms and 190000 square meters of student dormitories.

The school has 1.4656 million paper books, 1.1 million e-books, 76 experimental training rooms, 5108 teaching and office computers, 284 multimedia classrooms, 20214 multimedia seats, 7 speech rooms and 392 speech room seats. The total value of teaching equipment is 91.3138 million yuan.

According to the idea of serving the local economy and market demand, the university has set up 41 undergraduate majors and 26 specialized majors in 11 secondary colleges, covering 8 disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, management and art. At the same time, we should actively explore cooperation with foreign universities according to the idea of internationalization.

The school actively promotes the construction of teaching quality engineering, and has 1 national characteristic specialty, 2 provincial characteristic specialty, 1 provincial comprehensive reform pilot, 6 provincial excellent courses, 1 provincial excellent teaching team, 4 provincial excellent teaching and research departments, 2 provincial excellent practice bases, and 2 provincial practical teaching demonstration centers.

The University insists on promoting teaching by scientific research, and has made a series of achievements in discipline construction and scientific research. At present, it has 2 provincial key disciplines, 1 provincial research center and 3 provincial key research bases of social sciences. In recent years, school teachers have obtained 2 national scientific research projects and 96 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects.
