Baoji University of Arts and Sciences is located in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, the hometown of Emperor Yan and the birthplace of Zhou and Qin culture. It covers an area of 1070 mu. It is a provincial university with multi disciplines of Arts, history, philosophy, science, engineering, management, law, education and so on. Its predecessor was Baoji University (undergraduate) founded in 1958. In 1992, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, it merged with Baoji Normal University established in 1978 and renamed Baoji College of Arts and Sciences. At present, the college has 16 departments (departments) including politics and law, Chinese, history, foreign languages, education, art, economic management, mathematics, physics, chemistry and chemical engineering, geographical science and environmental engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, electronic and electrical engineering, sports department and social science department, and 28 majors. In addition, the College of adult education is set up. The college enrolls students from all over the country and has the qualification to recruit foreign students. At present, there are more than 9500 full-time college students. The college has more than 860 faculty members, including 180 professors, associate professors and other senior professional titles, and more than 100 with doctor's and master's degrees. In addition, more than 40 famous scholars and experts at home and abroad are employed as part-time professors. In the past five years, nearly 30 teachers have won the honorary titles of national excellent teachers, experts with outstanding contributions in Shaanxi Province and other provincial (ministerial) level or above. Yang Hongke, Professor of Chinese department and young writer (pseudonym: Hongke), also won the first national Feng Mu literature award and the second Lu Xun Literature Award. The college has advanced teaching and experimental equipment, nearly 7000 sets of teaching equipment, worth more than 50 million yuan. The library has a collection of more than 1.26 million books, more than 2000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and an electronic reading room. Journal of Baoji University of Arts and Sciences (SOCIAL SCIENCE EDITION, NATURAL SCIENCE EDITION) and western forum were published. In 2001, Journal of Baoji University of Arts and Sciences (NATURAL SCIENCE EDITION) was shortlisted as "Chinese science and technology journal matrix" and "double effect journal" (social and economic benefits). Journal of Baoji University of Arts and Sciences (SOCIAL SCIENCE EDITION) was awarded as "national excellent journal of Humanities and Social Sciences" by the National Society of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2002. In recent years, seizing the historical opportunity of the development of the western region and higher education, the college has implemented 100 key construction courses with education as the foundation and teaching as the center, established more than 80 education and teaching practice bases, more than 30 science and engineering laboratories and practice factories, among which the "disaster monitoring and mechanism simulation laboratory" is the provincial key laboratory and the plant chemistry college level key laboratory Point laboratories have been listed in the Provincial Key Laboratory single funding. We should formulate measures such as "teaching quality management monitoring system", implement credit system and flexible education system, carry out activities such as famous teachers' demonstration teaching, standardize teaching management system, strengthen the construction of teaching style and study style, and steadily improve teaching quality and school running level. Graduates are all over the country, and the one-time employment rate has remained above 97% in recent years. The college adheres to discipline construction as the leader, strengthens discipline construction and scientific research by formulating a series of measures such as "the tenth five year development plan for key discipline construction" and "management measures for key discipline construction", and determines seven key disciplines at the college level, among which Marxist philosophy, basic mathematics and physical geography are key disciplines at the provincial level.
