Dongguan Institute of Technology

Dongguan Institute of technology was organized in 1990, officially established in April 1992 with the approval of the State Education Commission, and changed to a full-time undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of education in March 2002. Dr. Yang Zhenning, the Nobel Laureate in physics, served as the honorary president.

The college is the first regular undergraduate college in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. Dongguan's economic strength ranks 12th among the "national top 100 cities with comprehensive strength" and first among prefecture level cities in China. It is one of the "best charming cities in China", "the most economically dynamic cities in China" and "international garden cities". Dongguan's strong economic strength and good development environment have laid a solid foundation and broad space for the college. The college has two campuses, with an area of 1500 mu. It is located in Songshanhu science and Technology Industrial Park, which is a garden style and modern campus. The campus in Guancheng has an area of more than 320 mu, with convenient transportation, beautiful scenery, trees and beautiful environment.

At present, the college has 13 departments (colleges and departments), 20 undergraduate majors and 16 junior college majors. It has established an independent undergraduate college, City College of Dongguan University of technology, which operates according to the new mechanism. At present, there are 10062 undergraduate and junior college students.

The Faculty of the college is excellent and talented. Among the full-time teachers, more than 55.2% are young and middle-aged teachers with doctor's or master's degrees, or those studying abroad or for further study; 38.8% have the title of deputy senior or above. Xu Jianzhong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher of the Institute of Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and doctoral supervisor, has been employed as a double academician. A group of famous experts and scholars at home and abroad, such as Dr. Qiu Chengtong, a world famous mathematician and winner of fields mathematics prize, have been employed as Honorary Professor, visiting professor and part-time professor.

While constantly improving the quality of education and teaching, the college actively promotes the construction of campus culture and comprehensively promotes the quality development project of college students. In the annual campus science and technology culture tour, a number of brand activities such as science and technology culture, social practice and voluntary service are vigorously carried out, which provides a vast fertile ground for showing college students' style and cultivating their innovative spirit, and is deeply loved by the majority of students. Summer social practice, scientific and technological innovation, literature and sports and other activities have also won many national, provincial and municipal awards, which have been widely praised by the community.
