As the only "model" software college in Xinjiang, relying on nearly 2000 enterprises of large scale in the region and the huge market of Central Asia and other neighboring countries, Xinjiang software industry is facing a rare development opportunity. This subject studies and solves the key technologies and outstanding problems in multilingual information processing and software application in Russia, Uygur, Kazakh and Koryo. The research content has distinctive language and regional characteristics.

The discipline actively serves the local economic development, always adheres to the idea of "seeking support through service and seeking development through contribution", makes full use of the opportunities and the college's own advantages, such as the joint construction of universities by the autonomous region and the Ministry of education, the "211 Project" construction universities, the comprehensive ability improvement plan of universities in the central and western regions, the demonstration base of industry university research joint cultivation of graduate students in the autonomous region, and the counterpart support of Tsinghua University Actively serve the software and information industry in Xinjiang, and play a positive role in the sustainable development of local social economy and the construction of a harmonious society. At present, this subject has become a software development high-end talent training base urgently needed by the development of software and information industry in Xinjiang, and has played a positive role in promoting the economic construction and social development of Xinjiang.

At present, there are 19 master tutors, 4 doctoral tutors, 10 senior tutors, 11 deputy senior tutors and 8 intermediate tutors. There are 14 off campus tutors, 7 senior and 7 vice senior.

At present, there is one academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, one winner of the Ministry of education's "new century talents support program", one winner of the national "Thousand Talents Program" overseas introduction of innovative talents in Xinjiang project, one national labor model, one lecture professor of Tianshan scholars in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, two winners of Tianshan talents in Xinjiang, one winner of Xinjiang May 4th Youth medal, and one famous teacher and teacher in Xinjiang Autonomous Region One master of learning and one advanced individual of teacher's morality in the autonomous region. The main academic leaders of the discipline hold the academic leading positions of influential associations in the country and autonomous region. In the fields of multilingual information processing and software development services, network computing, recommendation system, cloud storage energy saving, speech recognition and synthesis, information retrieval, public opinion monitoring, bilingual software, software application development, etc., it has undertaken more than 100 national and local scientific research projects and industry university research projects. From 2012 to 2015, the total funding for scientific research reached 30 million yuan, published more than 150 papers, 27 EI searches, 5 SCI searches, more than 20 software copyrights, and won one second prize of national science and Technology Progress Award and one third prize of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award. The research level of this subject in the field of multilingual information processing and software development and application of Russian, Uygur and Kazakh has reached the domestic leading level on the whole, and some research directions have reached the international advanced level, occupying a place at home and abroad.

Subject orientation and objectives:

The predecessor of this discipline is the second level discipline "computer software and theory" under the first level discipline "computer science and technology". In 2011, the "directory of degree awarding and talent training disciplines" issued by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council was added as the first level discipline. In 2014, Xinjiang University was approved as a master's degree program of software engineering.

As the only demonstration software college and the only master's degree program of software engineering in Xinjiang, this subject undertakes the important task of serving Xinjiang's software industry and training middle and senior software talents for Xinjiang. One belt, one road, is the main development strategy of the discipline. It takes the initiative to integrate into the development strategy of Xinjiang software and information industry. Aiming at the problems of weak innovation capability of software industry in Xinjiang, the quantity and quality of software talents, and the development of software industry, the discipline orientation and development goals of our software industry are defined. Engineering methods, key technologies and related tools in the process of large-scale software development are oriented to the development and service of multilingual application software in central and Western Asia, cultivating high-level, international and innovative software talents who can engage in software development, testing, maintenance and software project management, and leading the scientific and technological innovation and industrial development of Xinjiang software industry and multilingual software outsourcing service field; Give full play to the talents, education and scientific research advantages of colleges and universities, build a platform for scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation, promote the development of regional software industry with technological innovation, and actively provide intellectual support for Xinjiang software industry and information service.

Training objectives:

The training goal of software engineering talents is to cultivate middle and high-level application-oriented, compound, international software engineering technology and software engineering management talents for the information construction and development of national economy and the demand of enterprises and institutions for software engineering talents.
