Wenzhou-Kean University

Wenzhou Ken university is a Sino US cooperative university officially established with the approval of the Ministry of education and sponsored by the government. It is one of the only six Sino foreign cooperative universities with independent legal personality in China.

The school is committed to "finding different development directions for different students", introducing American high-quality education resources, implementing American education and all English teaching, and providing domestic students with opportunities and resources to obtain world-class education nearby.

Wenzhou Ken University focuses on undergraduate education and moderately develops postgraduate education; the university is committed to building itself into a world-class university with student-centered, innovative and inclusive, diversified development.

The school is located in the beautiful Li'ao street of Ouhai District, Wenzhou City, which is invested and constructed by Wenzhou municipal government. The campus is planned to use 3000 mu of land, including 1059.4 mu of construction land in phase I, with a construction area of 322700 square meters. In the autumn of 2013, 45000 square meters of teaching facilities in the first section of phase I were completed and put into use. By 2016, the first phase of the main project will be basically completed.

Wenzhou Ken University began to recruit students in 2012, with nearly 900 students. In 2014, six provinces were enrolled, all of which were set up in the first batch of colleges and universities. Wenzhou Ken university is one of the three universities in Zhejiang province that only recruit students in a batch.

Features & strengths

International faculty, American Education

More than 90% of the courses are imported from the University of Kent, and more than 90% of the teachers are selected and recruited by the University of Kent and the whole world. The setting, organization and implementation of professional courses are the same as those in the United States, and the teaching content, methods and evaluation are consistent with those in the United States. With international advanced teaching concept and teaching mode, we will cultivate international talents with global vision, familiar with international rules and affairs, and innovative, creative and pioneering ability.

English instruction, inquiry based learning

Small classes are taught in English. Teaching focuses on the interaction between teachers and students, inquiry learning, cultivate students' ability to find and solve problems independently and critical thinking. The school has set up an English Language Center (ELC) to help students adapt to the English teaching environment as soon as possible.

Dual degrees, graduate courses in advance

Students are registered in the United States and China at the same time. After graduation, they are awarded a bachelor's degree from Wenzhou Kenn University and a bachelor's degree from American Kenn University, and a bachelor's degree from Wenzhou Kenn University. During the period of study, you can go to Ken university to participate in cultural exchange activities and professional studies. After graduation, students can go directly to the United States to study for a master's degree from the University of Kent; students with excellent results can start to study for a master's degree from the University of Kent in Wenzhou in the Fourth academic year.
