Anhui Metallurgical Science and technology vocational college is a full-time ordinary university approved by Anhui Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education. It is invested and established by Masteel group company. Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. is a large-scale iron and steel complex in China. It has the most advanced cold and hot rolled sheet, color coated sheet, large H-beam production line in the world, and the largest professional wheel and tyre production plant in Asia. It is one of the largest international listed companies in China, as well as a base of fine building materials in China and a modern large enterprise group with strong international competitiveness. Its strong economic strength and scientific and technological strength can not only provide excellent teachers and good teaching and research conditions for the college, but also provide students with good practice and training base.

The college is located in Maanshan, a national civilized city with beautiful scenery in the Yangtze River Delta. Covering an area of 300 mu, the college has 8 computer rooms, 2 multimedia voice rooms, 28 laboratories and 1 internship factory for numerical control, automobile, electrical, hardware, network and machinery, and more than 20 internship and training bases for metallurgy, steel rolling, numerical control machine tools, automobile maintenance, marketing and international trade in Masteel and Maanshan. There is also a "national vocational skill appraisal institute" approved by the provincial labor department, which can issue the national senior worker certificate. The library of the Institute has installed a computer management system for books and built an electronic reading room with a collection of nearly 150000 books. The college has built a Gigabit broadband campus network and campus "one card" management system. Foreign teachers are employed to teach in the university all the year round. It has the qualification of CET-4 and CET-6 and PRETCO. It is the training base and examination point of nit. It is also the authorized examination point for senior marketers, international business documenters, hotel managers and senior logistics administrators. Journal of Anhui Vocational College of Metallurgical Science and technology is an official publication with CN and ISSN numbers approved by the State Press and publication administration.

The college has 7 departments, including metallurgy department, computer department, mechanical engineering department, automatic control department, foreign language department, economic management department and basic discipline department. The college has a high level of teaching staff. Among the full-time teachers, 37% have senior professional titles, 18% have graduate education, and 25% have double qualification teachers. At present, there are more than 5000 students.
