Ningbo Institute of education is a public institution of higher learning with a history of more than 50 years approved by the Ministry of education. The school is located in the urban area of Ningbo, on the Bank of the beautiful Sanjiang cultural corridor, covering an area of more than 130 mu, with a construction area of more than 70000 square meters. The campus is exquisite and elegant with excellent facilities and convenient transportation.

The school adheres to the guiding ideology of serving basic education and economic and social development, actively organizes general higher vocational education and adult higher education, undertakes the functions of Ningbo education administrative cadre training center, Ningbo primary and secondary school teacher training center and Ningbo preschool teacher training center, and forms a school running pattern of "one school, three centers" with its own characteristics.

The school has five secondary colleges: Humanities and preschool education, foreign language and trade, information and art, adult education, arts and science. At present, there are 11 General Higher Vocational Majors, 18 adult education undergraduate majors and 32 adult education specialty. In recent years, the university has strengthened the awareness of quality and characteristics, vigorously strengthened the construction of disciplines and specialties, attached importance to the adjustment of specialty structure, continuously improved the quality and level of running a school, and expanded the scale of running a school. At present, there are more than 3000 full-time students.

In the teaching work of full-time higher vocational education, the school adheres to the idea of employment oriented and ability oriented, pays attention to basic theory, highlights practical links, and strengthens the improvement of students' overall quality. It has formed distinct characteristics in the cultivation of technical application-oriented talents. Through the introduction of high-level talents, the implementation of teachers' professional development plan, the employment of part-time professors and other measures, the school has made great efforts to build an excellent teaching team, and established a teaching team with its own characteristics, which integrates teaching, training, scientific research and management, and has the same number, reasonable structure, high quality, full-time and part-time combination. At present, there are 194 full-time teachers in the school, of which 41% have senior titles of associate professor or above.

It has high standard experimental training base and first-class audio-visual teaching facilities in the province, which provides a solid guarantee for the smooth development of education, teaching and scientific research.
