Xi'an University of Posts and telecommunications is an ordinary university with engineering as the main body, information science and technology as its characteristics, and coordinated development of engineering, management, science, economics, arts, law and arts. It is the only University of Posts and telecommunications in Northwest China, the University of "education and training plan for outstanding engineers" of the Ministry of education, the training base for the selection of reserve officers of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, and the whole country China's first batch of colleges and universities to pilot preparatory classes for the children of frontier soldiers. The university has been awarded the title of "civilized campus" by Shaanxi provincial Party committee and Shaanxi Provincial People's government, the title of "model school running according to law" by Shaanxi Provincial Department of education, and the title of "advanced grassroots Party committee of Shaanxi colleges and universities" by Shaanxi Provincial Committee of education.
