Sichuan Institute of chemical technology is a full-time ordinary university approved by Sichuan Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education. It is a national regular public university. Founded in 1953, the college has a long history. At the beginning of its establishment, the school was merged into Chongqing University of technology, Chengdu University of technology, Neijiang chemical engineering school, Wutongqiao chemical engineering school, Jilin Industrial school, Chengdu Industrial school, Chongqing synthetic materials school, Zigong Chemical Engineering College and other related majors. In 1959, it was upgraded to Luzhou Chemical Engineering college with the approval of the Ministry of education, and officially renamed as Sichuan Chemical Vocational and technical college in 2003. Over the past 50 years, under the kind care of leaders at all levels, the college has been growing. The college provides students with broad opportunities for further study. At the same time, the college and Sichuan University jointly set up a set of self-taught undergraduate examination to meet the students' desire for further study. Adhering to the guiding ideology of "market-oriented, student-centered and innovation driven", the college now has chemical technology, mechanical and electrical technology, electronic information technology and other key majors, and focuses on building new majors such as management, economy and trade, tourism and so on to adapt to market changes. Over the past 50 years, the college has trained more than 30000 talents. Graduates are all over the southwest and even the whole country. At present, quite a number of graduates have become the backbone of production, operation and management of enterprises and institutions, and some outstanding graduates have become well-known entrepreneurs inside and outside the province. Nearly 100 enterprises and institutions inside and outside the province have established a long-term stable supply-demand relationship with our college. The employment rate of graduates is more than 98%, and some majors are even in short supply. They have made important contributions to the development of the western region, the economic development of Sichuan and even the whole country, and enjoy a high reputation in the society.
