Central Academy of drama

The Central Academy of drama is a college directly under the Ministry of education. It is an art university focusing on drama, film and television art education. It is one of the highest institutions of drama art education in China. She is the center of drama, film and television art teaching and research, and an important base for drama, film and television art training and practice. The Central Academy of drama was officially established in April 1950. Chairman Mao Zedong wrote the name of the Academy himself. Her predecessor is Yan'an Lu Xun art college, North China University School of literature and art, Nanjing National Academy of drama. Ouyang Yuqian, a famous dramatist, Jinshan, a famous performing artist, and Xu Xiaozhong, a famous directing artist, have successively served as the president of the Academy. Cao Yu, Zhang Geng, Guang Weiran, Sha Kefu, Li Bozhao and other famous dramatists have served as the leaders of the Academy. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Chen Yi, Yang Shangkun, Li Tieying and Li Lanqing, leaders of the three generations of the party, have successively received teachers and students of the Central Academy of drama and inspected its guidance work. The campus covers an area of 25.37 mu, with a construction area of nearly 30000 square meters and complete infrastructure. It has an experimental theater with a construction area of 5111 square meters, more than 700 seats and advanced equipment, which provides favorable conditions for the college's drama, film and television art practice and professional teaching. The building area of the college library is 1700 square meters, with more than 10 kinds of database management software, basically realizing the automation of information management and the networking of literature retrieval. At present, it has a collection of more than 370000 books, and the Chinese drama library is the richest in China. The Central Academy of drama is a national key subject of drama. The teaching and research institutions of the college include: Department of performance, Department of director, Department of drama literature, Department of stage art, Department of television art, Department of art management, Department of public courses, College of adult education, Vocational College of film and television art, Institute of drama, editorial department of drama, international cultural exchange center, etc. There are also party and government, teaching aid, logistics and other institutions. The college's specialties include: performance, directing, drama, film and television literature, film and television art design, broadcasting and hosting art, and public utilities management. The major of graduate students is drama. At present, the Central Academy of drama has about 2500 students at all levels, including more than 100 master's and doctoral students. The college has established inter school relations with Russia, Japan, South Korea, France, Britain and other countries, with more than 100 students from about 20 countries. At present, the college has 311 teaching staff and 140 teaching and research personnel. There are 132 full-time teachers, 23 professors and 53 associate professors. There are 45 graduate tutors, including 13 doctoral tutors. The Institute of drama studies consists of Ouyang Yuqian Research Office, Shakespeare research center, O'Neill Research Center, Brecht Research Center, drama research office and musical research group. The motto of the Central Academy of drama is: unity? Diligence? Seriousness? Liveliness? Creativity. In the past 50 years since its establishment, the academy has studied deeply the aesthetic spirit of Chinese national art on the basis of adhering to the artistic principles of realism, and extensively absorbed all valuable achievements of western modern drama. In teaching, It adheres to the combination of theory and practice, and the combination of students' basic skills, basic theories and original qualities. It attaches equal importance to professional level and moral sentiment, and has accumulated profound experience in art education and practice. Through continuous exploration and practice, it has formed its own school running style and education system, with a fine academic tradition and high academic status, Set up a good social image. Among the more than 6000 graduates trained by the college, high-level professionals in performance, directing, stage art, script creation, theoretical criticism and art management have spread all over the country's theaters (troupes), film factories, television stations, literary and art publications, research institutions and art colleges, and become the pillar force in all fields and departments. Quite a few of them have become famous artists, scholars, professors and writers at home and abroad. Many of them have won the Wenhua award, the "five ones" project award, the plum blossom Award for drama, the Zhenxing Drama Award, the Golden Rooster Award, the Hundred Flowers Award for film, the Golden Eagle Award for TV, the flying Apsaras award and the International Film Awards, such as the Golden Bear Award, the Golden Lion Award, the golden crutch award and the Oscar nomination, and have made remarkable achievements. In addition, the returned students from the Central Academy of drama spread across five continents, becoming envoys of spreading Chinese drama culture and promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
