Zhejiang Police College

Zhejiang Police College is located in the riverside higher education park on the South Bank of Qiantang River in Hangzhou. It is the only public security undergraduate college in Zhejiang Province. Its predecessor is Zhejiang public security cadre school founded in May 1949. It has gone through the periods of Zhejiang public security school, Zhejiang public security college and Zhejiang public security college. In March 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of education and Zhejiang Provincial People's government, it was upgraded and renamed Zhejiang Police College Police academy.

At present, the college has six undergraduate majors, including investigation, criminal science and technology, public security, traffic management engineering, law, computer science and technology, and ten specialized majors, including investigation, criminal technology, traffic management, public security management, police command and tactics, police management, public affairs management, and legal secretary. It has built 7 school training places including police actual combat teaching and training base, simulated crime scene, vehicle driving training ground and shooting training hall, 34 basic and professional laboratories including DNA detection, scanning electron microscope and trace inspection, and 4 school Bureau cooperation bases, 39 theoretical research bases and 50 teaching practice bases (spots) in public security organs at all levels in the province. 12 scientific research institutions have been established, including Police Management Institute, road traffic management institute, Applied Psychology Institute and Public Safety Institute. It has the Journal of Zhejiang Police College and the newspaper of Zhejiang Police College. The college library has a collection of more than 718400 books, and has carried out the co construction and sharing with the literature resources of the six libraries in Binjiang Higher Education Park, realizing the interlibrary loan, which can share more than 2.3 million books.

The college has a reasonable age structure, educational background structure and professional title structure, which can meet the teaching needs of police undergraduate and junior college education. At the same time, it also employs the most famous Chinese forensic scientist in the United States, Dr. Li Changyu, academician Liu Yao of Chinese Academy of engineering and other well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad as honorary or visiting professors. In the process of running the school, the college has continuously strengthened its exchange and cooperation with foreign countries, held an international forum on "police and science" every year, held a "Zhejiang public security forum" every month, invited experts and scholars from home and abroad to give lectures and exchange, provided a good platform for public security organs to carry out high-level police exchange and cooperation, and cooperated with Li Changyu Institute of forensic science of New Haven University and Sam· The school of criminal justice of the University of Houston and the International Institute of security and explosives education signed a friendly exchange and cooperation agreement.

Over the past 50 years, the college has always received the care and support of the superior leaders. In April 2001, Li Peng, then chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, visited the University and wrote an inscription. Through the unremitting efforts of several generations, the college's educational level and level have been continuously improved, and more than 14000 graduates have been sent to political and legal organs and security departments at all levels. The vast majority of graduates have become the business backbone of public security organs at all levels. Many graduates have stepped into leading positions, and emerged with the national public security first-class model and the "top ten most popular people's policemen in China" A large number of excellent graduates represented by Wang Fajin have contributed to the economic development and social stability of Zhejiang Province.

At the same time, it is also the first training base for the National Public Security Bureau (political commissar) of the Ministry of public security, the foreign aid training center of the Ministry of Commerce and the police officer training center of the Public Security Department of Zhejiang Province. It has undertaken the education and aid Tibet project of Zhejiang Province and run the Tibet class. In the past three years, the college has been awarded the title of "national model collective of national unity and progress" by the State Council, named "civilized unit of Zhejiang Province" by Zhejiang provincial Party committee and provincial government, and rated as the first batch of "safe campus" in Zhejiang Province.
