On July 21, foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian presided over a regular press conference.
A reporter asked a question. The US Department of state's East Asia Bureau tweeted that the United States welcomes Taiwan's efforts to expand its international partnership and cope with common challenges such as epidemic situation, investment review and supply chain resilience. The United States appreciates Taiwan's establishment of a "Taiwan Representative Office in Lithuania". How does the foreign ministry respond to this?
Zhao Lijian said that we are firmly opposed to the wrong words and deeds of the US side. There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China's territory. This is a historical and legal reality that no one or any force can change in any way. The United States should earnestly abide by the one China principle and the provisions of the three Sino US joint communiques, be cautious in speaking and acting on Taiwan related issues, stop helping Taiwan expand the so-called "international space" and stop sending any wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.
