[plant morphology] Clematis

Perennial herbs, 50-100 cm high. Rhizome transverse, stout, often twisted. Stem erect, nodes enlarged. Leaves alternate, elliptic or oblong, 6-15 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, apex short acuminate or acute, base cuneate, entire, both sides with long strigose hairs, scattered brown spots; stipules simple, amplexicaul, membranous, hairy; spikes axillary or terminal; flowers small, red; bracts ciliated; perianth 4-lobed, lobes broadly ovate; stamens 5; stigmas 2-divergent, apex hooked . Achene ovoid, brown, smooth surface. It blooms in autumn. The fruit period is winter.

Born in the edge of mountain forest, roadside wet place. Distributed in Shandong, Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other places.
