[chemical constituents] the whole plant contains mannitol and flavonoid glycosides. The aglycone of flavonoid glycosides is 6-hydroxyluteolin.

[function indications] antitussive, expectorant, antiasthmatic. Treatment of chronic tracheitis.

[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 2-3 yuan.

[clinical report] treatment of chronic tracheitis

According to the observation of 662 cases, the total effective rate was 84.6%, and the markedly effective rate was 32.9%. Preparation and usage: yizhixiangquancao (dry) 3 Qian, add water to 60 ml, 30 ml each time, twice a day. Two compound decoctions: yizhixiang, Sijiqing and Bergenia, 3 yuan each, decocted into 60 ml, 30 ml each time, twice a day. Three mannitol tablets: made from the active ingredients extracted from crude drugs. Each tablet contains 200 mg, 6 tablets each time, 3 times a day. The course of treatment was 7-10 days. In practice, it was observed that yizhixiang had antitussive, expectorant and antiasthmatic effects. About one third of the cases began to have curative effect three days after taking the medicine, and the curative effect of mannitol tablets was more significant. After 1-2 days of taking medicine, the patients generally felt dry mouth. A few patients had chest tightness and abdominal pain, but it was very mild and could disappear without treatment. There was no obvious damage to heart, liver and kidney function after long-term administration. It seems that the effect of this medicine on asthmatic type is higher than that of simple type.
