Herbs annual, ca. 20 cm tall. Root like. Stem erect, branched, longitudinally ribbed, villous. Leaves opposite, obovate, apex obtuse, base gradually narrowed, entire, both sides bristled; petiolate; axils often regenerate leaflets. Flowers axillary; involucre calyx shaped, composed of 4 bracts, with 1-3 flowers; calyx small, 5-lobed; corolla 2-lipped; stamens 2, anthers linear, 1-locular; style 2-lobed. The lower part of the capsule is compressed. The seed is flat.

Born on barren hills. It is distributed in the southeast and southwest of China.

It is cool in nature and slightly bitter in taste.

[function indications] it can generate muscle and stop bleeding.

[selection] 1. Treatment of knife and axe, gunshot wound: fresh gun anther whole grass, fresh beef rib leaf skin. For the above two flavors, tamp down the affected area and leave the wound.
