The body length is about 16 cm. Small and quail like. The iris is yellowish white, the upper mouth is slightly black, and the mouth is yellow. Most of the upper body has brown and chestnut yellow feathers, and there are black brown dots on both sides of the chest and ribs. Yellow feet, only three toes. The head and pillow of the female are dark brown, with pale yellow or chestnut green feathers.
