[plant morphology] Li Tian Jian, also known as Shao (the book of songs), Ta Mao (Erya),? Herbs perennial, all glabrous. Stems twining, creeping, much branched. The leaves are alternate, long ovate or triangular ovate, 4-8 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, apex acuminate, base halberd shaped, with lobes or without lobes at the base but short auricular; petiole 4-5 cm long. Flowers solitary in leaf axils, pedicel 6-8 cm long; bracts 2, broadly ovate, base heart-shaped, about 2.5 cm long; sepals 5, oval lanceolate, apex pointed; corolla funnel-shaped, light red, 4-7 cm long, 3-4 times longer than calyx, with 5 inconspicuous lobes; stamens 5; ovary superior, 2-locular, style filiform, stigma 2-lobed. Capsule globose, smooth. Seeds ovoid, glabrous, black. The flowering period is from June to July. The fruit period is from July to August.

Born in wasteland and roadside. It is distributed in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other places.

The roots (roots of Convolvulus) and stems and leaves (seedlings of Convolvulus) of this plant are also used for medicine.

In ancient Chinese Materia Medica, the Convolvulus not only refers to the above species, but also includes the bowl flower of the same genus. See the article "miangenteng".
