[plant morphology] Cirsium lineatum

Perennial herbs, 1-1.5 m high. Roots spindle shaped, sparsely branched, fleshy. Stem erect, upper part branched, with white arachnoid hair or fine soft hair. The middle leaves are nearly sessile, elliptic lanceolate, 10-20 cm long, rough on the top, with sparse white arachnoid hairs on the bottom, irregularly lobed or undivided on the edge, with spines of different lengths; the upper leaves are gradually smaller, linear lanceolate. The inflorescence is terminal, with long stalk, bulbous involucre, purplish red; the flowers are all tubular, purplish red. Achene oblong, with corolla. The flowering period is from September to October. The fruit period is from October to November.

It grows in sunny hills, low hillside under sparse forest, country roadside, ditch and open land. It is distributed in Zhejiang and other places.

[chemical constituents] the leaves contain silymarin A and B. A is a glucoside of 5,4 "- dihydroxy-6,7,8-trimethoxyflavone or 5,4" - dihydroxy-3,6,8-trimethoxyflavone.

Functions and indications: promoting blood circulation, dispersing blood stasis, detumescence and detoxification.

② Treatment of red and leucorrhea: five yuan for Silybum lineatum root, one or two yuan for Baiying, four yuan for motherwort, one or two yuan for palm seed, six yuan for Viola and six yuan for Salvia miltiorrhiza. Take it in water.

③ Treatment of urinary tract infection: fresh artichoke root, cross road yellow each one or two, Sanguisorba root, zijinniu, plantain each five money. Take it in water.
