[plant morphology] cactus

The stem is spherical or elliptic, 15 cm high, green, fleshy, with 12-14 longitudinal edges, usually 10-15 clustered needles, straight and hard, yellow or dark yellow, varying in length, radial. There are white hairs in the mesh. Flowers open at night, on the side of the mesh, that is, above the thorn, long trumpet shaped, about 20 cm long, red, fragrant; tube covered with scales, scale axils with long hair. Berries globose to ovate, spineless. The seeds are small and the flowering period is from May to June.

It is cultivated in gardens all over the country.
